Terravita x KJ Sawka – Atlantic Drifter [FREE DOWNLOAD]

Terravita x KJ Sawka - Atlantic Drifter

I cannot tell you how long I’ve been waiting for Terravita’s Rituals LP; it seems so long ago that they released their Power of Fire EP. But even since then, Terravita has been releasing non-stop, with Bach Off and Pirate Bass. So why does it feel like this is something I’ve been waiting for all my life? Probably because it’s been nearly three years since their seminal track “Up In The Club.”

If you asked me to point to one track that brought drumstep to the forefront, this would be it. The second that the drop hits and that bass comes in… I wish I could go back to the first time I heard it. It almost hits you like a deer in headlights, you don’t know what to do.

Now that they are officially releasing their Rituals LP on April 1st (please God don’t be an April Fool’s), I feel like they have finally made it. Sure, they have toured around the world, but there has been a recent trend in the resurgence of LPs – Dillon Francis is doing it, we’re finally seeing it from Porter Robinson and Madeon, and now Terravita.

This newest track from the LP they’ve let out, “Atlantic Drifter,” features drums from drum & bass’s favorite child, KJ Sawka. It starts off with a rising crescendo on piano and guitar, some other Eastern string instrument, and then the drop hits and we hear Terravita’s signature bass growls and we’re happy. This is the culmination of years of dedication and hard work, and it quite literally shakes the ground beneath our feet. There’s actual melody to their productions now, and the sound design is stellar. Sawka’s drums do quite the number, as well. Be sure to look out for the whole release on April 1st, courtesy of Firepower Records. This one’s also a free download, so be sure to get it, and bump it as many times as you can!
