Avicii’s funeral was held this past week in a private ceremony at the Skogskyrkogården cemetery in Stockholm. According to publicist Ebba Lindqvist, “Only his family and closest friends were present.”
Avicii’s family stated in May that the funeral would be private.
Avicii was found dead at 28 in his hotel room in Muscat, Oman, where he’d been vacationing. No official cause of death has yet been revealed, though based on a statement from his family, it is believed to be a suicide. 
In an open letter published several days after his death, the DJ’s family said he “wanted peace” and “could not go on any longer.”
“He really struggled with thoughts about meaning, life, happiness,” they wrote.
Avicii has been remembered by nearly everyone in dance music, and his absence is still felt today. We wish his family all the best in their continued time of mourning.
