Although yesterday was meant to be a day of love, it became a day of terror as a shooter tore up a Florida high school. 17 were left dead, adults and teenagers, with 15 more injured, and hundred of lives permanently affected by the senseless act of violence.
In the wake of the tragedy, many were quick to voice their opinions and offer their thoughts on the event, including many in dance music.
Below are a selection of tweets and posts from artists who have much to say.
I don’t understand why we are all here on earth in the first place, but im pretty sure it’s not to violently kill one another with assault rifles….. and fuck thoughts and prayers. How about justice for the victims and gun legislation that prevents this shit from happening.

Sick about what happened in Florida today.
I don’t know how to rid the world of these psychotic people but I hope we can eventually figure out a way to thin them
People who use their bodies and minds to destroy others should be destroyed. I wish it was that easy

Except in Australia where banning guns worked and there have been no mass shootings since.

Also I've fired an AR-15 with a bump stock. What the fuck. It feels like it's ripping space time in half. Why is owning one ok? Hunting? It's like cutting your lawn with napalm. I know this horse is dead as fuck at this point, just venting my sad exhaust.

In 1996 we had a school shooting in England. Then we did this; guess how many we've had since? pic.twitter.com/kvY4a6v7Xo

And also from former President Obama:
We are grieving with Parkland. But we are not powerless. Caring for our kids is our first job. And until we can honestly say that we're doing enough to keep them safe from harm, including long overdue, common-sense gun safety laws that most Americans want, then we have to change.
