ODESZA’s new album A Moment Apart is well on its way to critical acclaim having stolen the hearts of fans, journalists, and bloggers alike in the last week. It’s also looking like a commercial success as well having just debuted at #2 on the Billboard 200, the prestigious album-sales chart.
A Moment Apart moved 63,000 units in the first week with 52,000 units moved in the traditional album sale department – the best ever sales week for the indie electronic pioneers. The duo’s concert ticket/album bundle sale certainly contributed to their impressive sales but this is nevertheless an amazing achievement for electronic music which has traditionally struggled in the album department.
