Porter Robinson and Madeon’s “Shelter” Came Out A Year Ago, An Era That Will Live Forever

Porter Robinson and Madeon‘s “Shelter” came out a year ago — now one of the most recognized and loved tracks in electronic music, which sparked an entire tour and an era, really.

To mark the year anniversary of the milestone production, Porter shared his thoughts on social media, “shelter came out a year ago. this is one of those eras i’m going to remember forever ahhhh.”

“Shelter” reached 100 million streams last month, collectively across music and video streaming platforms and apps. It was a huge milestone for both producers that even further validated the song’s integrity.

“The craziest thing about it to me is that we made it all on our own,” Porter said. “There wasn’t an army of writers and label people. We just sat down and made a song we cared about. And it was listened to 100m times. Dope.”

It’s hard to believe we once lived in the world without “Shelter,” the live co-headling tour, before this last magical year… Listen to it all over again to celebrate!
