In March last year, Major Lazer broke new ground by becoming one of the first major artists from the United States to perform in Cuba following the official restoration of diplomatic ties between the two countries by President Obama while he was still in office.
While the show took place on March 6th, 2016, Major Lazer has since revealed that the show had been in the works since the year before and took ‘over a year’ of planning before the show took place. The show, of course, was also a massive success which saw a crowd of 400,000 attendance.
To commemorate their historic show, the trio has also announced that a documentary surrounding their experiences of planning the event will debut this weekend at Sundance Film Festival. Entitled GIVE ME FUTURE, the film is directed by a friend of the trio Austin Peters.
