In an ever-evolving world of genres, it’s quite easy for the scene to become diluted with lackluster talent. With songs at every BPM and style imaginable, the market becomes so easily over-saturated with countless tunes that lack history and passion. That being said, it was only a matter of time before one of dubstep’s legendary pioneers would make his return and silence the amateurs. Coki returns with a weighty 4 track EP as DJ Hatcha‘s label Hatched‘s 12th release.
My favorite track from the four would definitely be “Cool.N.Deadly,” as it’s picks listeners up, and sends them back to the collective cloudy headspace they all shared when dubstep truly began. Coming in a close second, would be “Breathing” featuring Trixx. This one stands out because it’s mindless. You don’t have to think about it, just feel it. That in today’s day and age, is truly a rarity. 
I’ve said it time and time again, true dubstep isn’t comprised of how many wobbles there are, or how hard you headbang your head onto the rail in the front row. It’s a grassroots movement that pioneered an entire subculture. Know your roots, love your roots.
