Over the past few months Axwell has been fairly quiet. Now, on the eve of the 2016 festival season, Axwell has come out of the shadows to release his first solo track in nearly 3 years. Prior to his latest compilation release, which featured a song dedicated to his wife, the Swede’s last single was “Center Of The Universe” in 2013.
Titled “Barricade”, Axwell’s new song is a hard-hitting shot out of a gun that does nothing but make you excited for his return to the release scene.
With hints of old Swedish House Mafia’s style, Barricade was first unveiled last year at Ultra Music Festival 2015. Since then, “Barricade” has become a favorite ID in the sets of Axwell & Ingrosso for the last several months. Fans thought it would be released as a collaboration, but earlier this week the world was surprised when “Barricade” was released as a solo track on Axtone Records.
