As you can see from the image above, Insomniac has released the festival map for this year’s 2nd annual Countdown NYE event at the NOS Events Center in San Bernardino. Featuring three stages – compared to Dreamstate’s one, and Escape’s four – this event aim to present quality acts in a more intimate environment. But if you look at the map, at the Citrus building, I wonder what that is…
It’s an ice skating rink.
To my knowledge, this would be the first EDM festival in Southern California to feature such an awesome attraction. The building will contain heat lamps as well as food, for those of you wanting to get out of the cold, and looking for something unique to do. 
VIP amenities are also beefed up this year.
This year, the Countdown 21+ VIP experience has been completely reimagined, with offerings that have never been done at any Insomniac festival. While an exclusive viewing area and dance floor will be available at the Infinity stage, the Resolution stage will not only host an elevated VIP Viewing deck, but also an array of luxury amenities just for VIP guests. From 9-11 PM, the Resolution VIP area will offer fans complimentary NYE themed cocktails as well as a complimentary champagne toast at the stroke of midnight to ring in the New Year.
As the night cools down, The Grilled Cheese Truck, one of LA’s favorite food trucks, will help keep VIP guests warm with complimentary grilled cheese and tater tots served all night, with a cozy, heated VIP seating area to sit and enjoy these fresh eats. Guests can also visit the hot chocolate and s’mores dessert bar to satisfy their sweet tooth.
Kandi bracelet making, dedicated wifi, special photo opportunities, phone charging stations, complimentary parking, rapid festival entry and more are all included in the Countdown VIP experience.
