Noisia is back on the circuit with the “Purpose EP,” a slapstick collection of D&B greatness. The Dutch trio goes back to their roots with six lengthy, original mixes. Featuring collaborations with Phace and Prolix, this is one of the more in-depth EPs we’ve heard this year.
“Running Blind” showcases a razor-edged breakbeat, the most intense of any on the album. “Shaking Hands” gets a little more cosmic while hammering the same rhythm throughout. The title track featuring Phace is gritty and fast – perfectly embodying the ‘vision.’ Every track is relentlessly in tune with the OG drum & bass style that continues to see less airplay every year, which only makes the record more commendable.
