After commencing Nest with AC Slater last month, Skrillex’s grandchild label is already publishing their fourth project. This time, Fool’s Gold signee NAPT is dropping the Come Like This EP for free, as per usual for Nest releases. On that EP you will find “Hold Tight,” a breakbeat single that Your EDM has the pleasure of premiering to you today. In keeping with the experimental nature of Nest (and OWSLA), NAPT’s production takes influence from a vast array of genres to manifest something that’s unprecedented. From both a creative and technical perspective “Hold Tight” is so magnificent that it should inspire all the other producers out there to push themselves to create music that really stands out on its own. I mean, right from the get go of this song your ears perk up from the peculiar vocal chopping and snappy snares. Without even having heard the ebullient piano or the full ensemble of perky percussion you’re already hooked; once you get into the heat of things it’s dance grooves galore with a whole lot of positive energy.

“Hold Tight’ encapsulates no holds barred free form action in the lab. We ended up with a futurist club jam where we referenced some of our favourite RnB style beats coupled with fractured divas and classic piano breakdowns.”
