I’m not a traditional bass-head by nature, but this track is exactly what I like from drum n’ bass and dub. Zeds Dead are hands down some of the best dub producers in the industry. Their remix of Nina Simone’s Don’t Let Me Be Misunderstood is as smooth as they come. A lot of dub/dnb remixes tend to go over the top by adding too many wobbles and growls, to the point where the original track gets lost. Zeds Dead allows for Nina Simone’s soulful vocals to be heard and understood before dropping some sick bass into it. DNB producers need to take a step back and take a page or two from the Zeds Dead manual.
