All ears are on Marshmello x Lil Peep for their brand new song “Spotlight!” It’s more than just a song though — it’s the first material we’re hearing of the late rapper since his tragic death just months ago.
Don’t expect the usual, bubbly Marshmello beat, because Lil Peep’s bold style is front and center on this one. The producer lays down a thoughtful, crisp beat with a load of bass, making the vocals pop in all the right ways.
Much of Peep’s work focuses on pain over everything else, usually in a failing relationship. Listening back to his first post-humous track, it hurts a little extra, but is also a sweet reminder that he was a truly one-of-a-kind artist.
