Maggie Rogers’s rise to fame has been nothing short of extraordinary. Following Pharrell’s cosign of her debut single “Alaska,” Maggie Rogers quickly signed with both management and label releasing debut EP Now That The Light Is Fading via Capitol earlier this year. Now as she writes, “this is me saying goodbye for a little while.”
Yes, you read that correctly. Almost as quick as her ascent was her graceful exit from the music industry. Though she assures us that she’s only leaving “for a little while” she’s also gracious enough to leave us a parting gift for us to remember her by in the form of a new single “Split Stones.” In her post, Rogers shares that the record was written in college and features samples from “a month-long backpacking trip in Oregon during the summer of 2013.”
“Split Stones” is also a major part of a North Face marketing campaign for their new Ventrix Jacket.
