The Chainsmokers sat down with Billboard for an exclusive new interview, and although it’s only two and a half minutes in length we learned quite a bit from it.
The first fun fact is how this prolific dance music duo actually got started, and the story stems from their manager, Adam Alpert, who now runs Disruptor Records, an imprint of Sony. He proved to be the perfect matchmaker and connected the two young talents years ago. The rest, as he says, is history.
The Chainsmokers themselves also address the controversial notion that electronic dance music is a bubble that has burst, or is about to. They quickly dispell the increasingly popular belief, admitting that the days of progressive house anthems are mostly in the past, but that the newfound creativity and variety that has emerged as a result prove moreover that EDM is far from dying.
