After a several month hiatus, we’ve finally received more news about Steve Aoki‘s upcoming album Neon Future III. Coming as a follow-up to his previous two Neon Futures, the work has yet to receive an official release date. Despite the mystery, however, we now have another big name to add to the list of its prospective collaborators.
On his Twitter yesterday evening, Aoki uploaded several photos of himself in the studio, using the hashtag #neonfutureIII, with none other than Travis Barker of band Blink-182. After previously having remixed the Barker’s track “Push Em,” as well as collaborated on his own singles “Cudi the Kid” and “Misfits,” Aoki is no stranger to working with the drumming legend. Next to them, in the photos below, can also be found Mark Hoppus and John Feldmann.

With this new information, Barker joins the already impressive list of other possible additions to Aoki’s Neon Future III. Back in January, we learned that My Chemical Romance’s Gerard Way, Headhunterz, Echosmith, and a rumored Tinie Tempah collab were all in the works for the upcoming album. With such influential and wide-spanning names, the collection is sure to be one of the most memorable in Aoki’s career.
Until further details surface, revisit one of Aoki’s collaborations with Barker below.
