Glasgow teen posts video as ecstasy warning, goes viral

A video has gone viral today of 16-year-old Amy Thomson, who is shown in a wheelchair attempting to articulate words, but having a visibly difficult time doing so. Amy was left in a coma for a month after taking what is believed to have been MDMA at a house party in Glasgow this past June.

As much as we here at Your EDM like to tout MDMA as a helpful drug, its status as a drug remains and no drug is without risk. Everyone is different, and it’s important to know yourself and your body to avoid any potentially fatal or adverse effects. However, with current drug laws in place, there’s no way that anyone would ever know that they might react adversely to any certain unlawful drug.

“What you are seeing is amazing compared to the way she was a few weeks ago,” says Amy’s cousin Kayla. “She’s improved in many amazing ways. She still has many improvements to show us all.”

The toxicology report detailing taken substances has not been released because of pending criminal cases, Police Scotland says.
